Things started off well in the early Spring of 2007. I managed to pick up a few items that came up for sale in Japan, including two genuine, unused Mugen decals for the tail light and front bumper. I found a great bargain on some JDM Honda Access front floor mats which I originally was thinking of re-selling but changed my mind, since I'd been using a set of custom-cut Neuspeed mats meant for LHD CRXs and I was never quite comfortable with that. So I decided to keep my mint ones for shows and use that pair for daily. I also began prepping my Honda Access Aero Mirror Covers to be painted.

Some of my good friends (such as rickcab1, cybercrxt and others not as well known on the forums) had sold or were in the process of selling their CRXs in 2007/2008. Once again familiar feelings began to surface and it seemed to me that perhaps they were on to something... The CR-X is an impractical car for most people, as most two-seater sports cars are. As I got older, I didn't drive my CR-X as much and I could feel that my priorities and goals had begun to change. I started to wonder if this was the equivalent to a pre-mid-life crisis. Between work, school, home-owner responsibilities and a social life, the CR-X always seemed to take a back seat and yet I couldn't let go. I felt like I was trying to somehow recapture my youth and the great times I'd had in Project 88. I wondered if that was healthy and wondered if it was time to let go.
In the end, my fiance made everything easier for me. She told me that the CR-X wasn't costing anything to store in the garage - well, it was $50/yr for a storage insurance policy, but that's no big deal. She said to keep it. Sleep on it for a year... So I did. I took a break. I didn't post as much on the forums, I didn't keep a close eye on parts and I didn't think about the CR-X very much. Matter of fact, she sat for over a year on jack stands in my garage without so much as being touched.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed reading my blog. I was able to buy this decal 2nd hand on Yahoo Japan. They don't come up for sale very often and they are very expensive when they do, but if you're patient you may find one come up for sale there again. Best of luck!
